Even more Calendars!
One thing that makes these calendars so great is not only are they the most accurate and detailed astrological calendars around, but they are also printed in Pacific time, making the reading of the astrological influences a breeze for us West Coasters.
We have a selection of each of the styles: The Celestial Influences Wall Calendar... the Celestial Guide (spiral-bound desk calendar), the Astrologer's Datebook (a smaller perfect-bound booklet size calendar), and the ever popular Pocket Astrologer are all here! Let there be much rejoicing!
But hurry! People have been coming in daily to ask for these so they are sure to fly out of here... we already have been selling a bunch of them since they came in this afternoon, and so I have more on order but there's no guarantee that I'll be able to get more after that. Come on down to The Mystic Dream and see what's in the stars for you this coming year!

December Hours
December at The Mystic Dream
For the month of December we are celebrating the healing power of angels. Divination cards, wall plaques, statues, charms... How will the angels manifest in your life this season?
And don't miss our special holiday deals for the month of December! We will be changing our sales offerings daily, so come in and see what's new!
New is a common theme for us this season... once again we have worked our magic and revamped some key areas of our store; with a new layout we have increased our ability to display products and offer services so as to better serve you. Come in and relax in our new seating area... read a book... have a conversation, or just chill out as you wait for a reading or massage.
We also would like to welcome Devin Hunter, our new store manager. Although Storm and Chas have increased their hours and will be present at the store more often, we are especially blessed to have Mr. Hunter's expertise at the helm.

Spell: Attracting Faeries to Your Garden
It is sometimes said that the faery spirits still dwell beneath the hills and mounds; in wild places untouched by human hand. It is thought that while they once lived in concert with humankind, they have long ago receded into the mists, passing beyond the veil that separates our world of what is seen, and into the land of dreams and myths. But they are here, with us even now; living just beyond the periphery of our normal sight, waiting for us to learn how to live in harmony with the land.
Toward that end we can begin a simple practice so that we can open our awareness so that we may learn how to perceive and attract the fey into our own “wild spaces”, whether that be in a forest, on a ranch, or even in our own suburban backyard!
Items needed:
A space outdoors where you won’t be disturbed
A small sage bundle
A small cup or glass of fresh water
A few brightly colored crystals or stones (rose quartz, amethyst, lapis, and the like work great)
Some brightly colored ribbon of a natural fiber
some living flowers (not cut! These will be planted.)
A small shovel
Some small windchimes
A stick or cone of sweet incense
A small bowl of whole milk
A small portion of honey
Go to your chosen outdoor place where you wish to draw the faeries. Light the sage bundle and purify yourself by “washing” your aura with the smoke. You may wish to likewise smudge the general area and all of your ritual items.
Create a little altar for the faerie folk by arranging the colored stones in a circle and hanging the chimes nearby. Tie the ribbons so that they stream from the top of the chime or on a nearby plant or structure so that they flow in the breeze. Dig a small hole in the middle of your stone circle and place both hands over the hole and make a prayer:
“Spirits of the land;
Shining Ones,
You who dwell beneath the surface
I make this offering that we may live in harmony.”
Take up the flowers and inhale their scent. Plant the flowers as an offering to the faeries and as a sign that you respect the powers of natural life. Take hold of the glass of water and place your hands over it while you make your prayer for renewal of the land. Water the flowers with this blessed water.
Light the incense and offer some of the milk and honey to the local faerie spirits. Sit in meditative silence for several minutes and ask for the faeries to come. Make a pledge to visit the faerie shrine regularly to refresh the offerings.

Love Mojo
Ingredients:
A Small, Red, Drawstring Bag
Pinch of Cinnamon
Pinch of Damiana
Dried Rose Petals
Small Lodestone
Name Paper*
Red and Black Pens
A Personal Concern**
Cologne (Hoyts or Strong Love)
Incense (Love Drawing)
The following was presented by Chas Bogan at The Mystic Dream on March 5th and 7th as part of ongoing classes on magic called The Mystic Cauldron. Visit our ‘Events’ page to learn about future classes.
To begin, you will need to write out a name paper*. For the paper itself you should use something clear of markings; this could include high-end parchment or parchment paper, or simply a square torn from a grocery bag. A piece about 5 by 5 inches works well, as it can be folded small enough to fit well inside the bag. Begin writing on the paper with a word describing that which you wish to attract. Since this is a love spell, you may write the name of a specific person you wish to attract, or if you have no one specific in mind but simply wish to draw a lover to you then focus on a specific attribute you desire, such as with a word like ‘masculine’ or ‘rich.’ You will write this word three times, one under the other in the center of the paper, preferably in red ink. Now, turn the paper clockwise 90 degrees, and with a black pen write your own name thrice in a row so that it crosses the words written in red. In this manner you are symbolically taking control of that which is beneath your name in the lighter ink. Next, you will encircle all this. Writing in cursive with your black pen, without lifting the pen, write the word ‘love’ again and again until your word completes a circle in which your desire and your name are contained. Now, you will fold your paper. It is important, because we are doing magic to draw love to us, that we fold the paper towards us each time and not away from us. You will fold your paper three times before placing it in your mojo bag.
Open your red bag and place in it a pinch of cinnamon, damiana and some dried rose petals. Next, choose a small lodestone (remember that this is an object you will want to carry on your person without it being too bulky). The last object to go into the bag is your personal concern**, which can be a fingernail clipping and bit of your hair. With your mojo bag full now, tie the end. You will need to wrap the strings around the neck of the bag and tie it several times to seal it tight. Keeping with tradition, an odd number of knots are best.
Next you will perfume your bag, touching it to the mouth of your cologne bottle five times like the arrangement of dots on a die. Lastly you will light some incense, a love-drawing variety being preferred. Hold your bag near the smoke, then blow the smoke onto it, imagining that your exhale is passing into your bag the breath of life. Now is an ideal time to name your bag. This can be as simple as ‘Love Mojo’ or ‘Little Cupid,’ something that feels right to you. Announce to your bag its name, and you are done. Carry this bag with you, and allegedly love will be drawn your way.

A Love Spell
A red “Knob” candle
A small piece of rose quartz
a red pouch or bag
Some rose petals
A love-drawing oil
A piece of parchment paper
A small saucer
Prepare a petition paper by writing your name three times in the center on the parchment.
Around this in a circle, write out a short sentence describing what you wish to draw toward you (“A kind and loving man”, “a beautiful and caring woman”, etc.) As you do this, make sure that your pen never lifts from the paper until the circle is complete. Do not cross your T’s or dot your I’s until you are finished. If you make a mistake, tear up the paper and begin again.
Next, draw hearts or other symbols that convey the idea of love to you. Place them in the four corners of the paper, and draw arrows from them pointing to the writing in the center with your name. If you work with other symbols of power then feel free to include them as well. Anoint the four corners and the center of the paper with your love-drawing oil. Sprinkle some of the rose petals on the paper and then fold the paper in half toward you. Turn it 90 degrees clockwise and fold again. Repeat this process, always folding toward you, until you cannot fold it any more. Place it in the very center of your altar and place the saucer upside down on top of it.
Dress your candle with the love-drawing oil and make a heart-felt prayer for love to enter into your life. Conjure up feelings of being in love. Imagine your prayer as already being answered and feel how wonderful it is to have love in your life. Place it on top of the saucer and place the rose quartz in front of it.
Make a ring of rose petals on your altar so as to encircle everything within it. Light the candle and allow one knob to burn down and then snuff the flame (do NOT blow it out!)
The next night, light the candle again and allow another knob to burn down before snuffing. Continue this for each of the seven nights until the candle burns completely down. Gather up the rose quartz, the petition paper, and the rose petals, and place them in the red bag. Carry this with you and do not let it be seen by anyone else. When your love manifests in your life, take this bag to a crossroads and bury it. It is done.

Candle Divination Tips
Strong flame: A tall, full flame is a positive sign, expressing the vitality of the magic working in your favor.
Weak Flame: Your work may lack passion, or else forces such as luck or an adversary may be opposing you. If the flame remains weak for the full duration of the spell it may indicate that the condition you wish to achieve will come to pass only with much effort on your part.
Erratic Flame: When a flame repeatedly alternates between burning tall and low it may indicate conflict. Perhaps you are actually uncertain that the target of your spell is what is best, or else another person may be working against your will.
Active Flame: A flame will jump or flicker when seeking your attention. The difference between an active and erratic flame is that the former is strong. Meditate on your intentions, and address any spirits you have asked to aid your spell to see if they are speaking to you.
Dead Flame: Magic is not working for you. The forces at variance to your will may be stronger than the energy released from your spell. Evaluate your goal, and perhaps try a different approach or spell.
Sparking flame: This may be another way for the spirits to get your attention, or the spark may represent barriers that are being blown up by your magic. Typically a positive sign.

Free Candle Dressings
February is Candle Month
Items needed:
2 white candles
Uncrossing (or Van Van) oil
Uncrossing Bath salts
A glass of cool, fresh water
Draw a warm bath and add the Uncrossing bath salts (or, alternatively Uncrossing or Van Van oil added to a cup of whole milk). Pray over the water and ask to be cleansed.
Light the candles and ask that they transform any negativity within and around you into pure, divine light. Enter the bath and bathe in complete, reverent silence for at least several minutes.
Hold the glass of water in front of you so as to catch some of the candlelight within it. Once more, make a prayer and ask that all of your impurities be transformed into divine light. Breathe three breaths out upon the surface of the water, imagining it now shining with the power of your prayer. Drink it down and know that you are taking this transformation deep within you.
Drain the tub and capture a small portion of the bathwater in your glass. Step out and through the gateway of the candles feeling that you are leaving all your troubles behind you. Take the water you have captured outside and throw it against a large, strong tree. It is done.
